Trump jokes about containing his 'bald spot' at CPAC

Before President Trump talked about the 'great conservative ideas' he promised to at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday, he took a minute to preen.  

'What a nice picture that is. Look at that. I'd love to watch that guy speak,' Trump said, speaking from a center podium, with two jumbotrons flanking each side of him, blowing up his image. 'That's so nice.' 

The president air-patted his hair and then did a twirl. 'I try like hell to hide that bald spot folks, I work hard at it,' Trump said to laughs.

Before getting into the meat of his CPAC speech, the president did a twirl on stage and air-patted his famous hair

'It doesn't look bad. We're hanging on,' Trump added, continuing on with his remarks. 

The president's comment was a new take on his unique hair, as he's, for years, contended that it's real, asking people - from campaign rally participants to the Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon - to give it a tug. 

But his balding problem is a public matter now that White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson revealed last month that Trump takes the drug Propecia for male-pattern hair loss.

Ivanka Trump, according to author Michael Wolff's controversial book, 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,' has explained to friends how her father's hair works.

'She often described the mechanics behind it to friends: an absolutely clean pate - a contained island after scalp-reduction surgery - surrounded by a furry circle of hair around the sides and front, from which all ends are drawn up to meet in the center and then swept back and security by a stiffening spray,' Wolff wrote.  

The first daughter also outed her father for coloring his hair as well. 

'The color, she would point out in comical effect, was from a product called Just for Men - the longer it was left on, the darker it got,' Wolff said.

Just for Men is usually used to hide graying hairs.   

'Impatience resulted in Trump's orange-blond hair color,' Wolff's book said.
